Jim is a natural teacher, is extremely patient, and has a knack for making his clients have fun learning computer skills. He teaches you at your own pace and shows you only what you're interested in learning.
Teaching is a talent Jim was born with. He has a talent for taking complex problems and breaking them down into simple graspable parts. Einstein once said that you can explain the Theory of Relativity to anyone as long as you really understand it yourself. Well Jim has been using computers for 20 years now and created one of the first websites ever published on the Internet. He knows what you need to know. He is not going to waste your time going over the whole book if you are only going to use 20% of what's in it. He knows what people use their computers for on a daily basis and that's what he teaches you.
On the other hand, if there is something specific or difficult that you need to learn, he will teach that to you as well. Remember, he's been using computers for two decades now.
He taught Microsoft Office, Introduction to Computers, and Web Design at the high school level in the Palm Beach County School District for 3 years. He is currently certified to teach Computer Science by the State of Florida Department of Education (#979417).
As adjunct faculty and a CIW Certified Master Site Designer, he taught the CIW Certified Internet Webmaster course at the Palm Beach Community College until the course was no longer offered.
Jim graduated Phi Beta Kappa (National Honor Society) with a B.A. in psychology from Princeton University. He knows how people think and how they learn and specifically how they learn to use computers. In addition to a natural instinct for teaching, he has taken courses on learning, behavior, and computer instruction at Princeton University and at the University of Phoenix.

"So where does Jim tutor ?"
He will tutor you in your home or at a local Starbuck's if you have your own laptop. You don't need to drive anywhere. Jim lives in Jupiter, Florida which is the northern tip of Palm Beach County. He has tutored people as far away as Boca, Hollywood, and Miami. He only asks that you cover the cost of the gas, not pay for his driving time. Please pay for 2 gallons of gas for every 50 miles roundtrip from Jupiter. Example: To Boca Raton and back is about 100 miles round trip. That's 4 gallons of gas. Simple and fair.
"What kind of people does he tutor? "
Jim has tutored people of all ages and all levels of experience. He used to teach adults and retirees at the Coconut Creek Computer Center. He has taught people in their 80's who have no experience and had them feeling like experts in no time. He has tutored professional web designers in Dreamweaver and Cascading Style Sheets. He taught web design to high school students for three years and to adults at Palm Beach Community College.
Jim NEVER makes you feel dumb or stupid. Even if you don't know how to use a keyboard or a mouse, he will have you up and running in no time.

Jim has been using computers for 20 years now. The first time he used Microsoft Word was when he was serving aboard the U.S.S. Merrill DD-976 in the U.S. Naval base in San Diego, California back in 1990.

He is an Adobe Certified Associate in Web Communication Dreamweaver CS4 and Visual Communication Photoshop CS3. He has been certified since 2002 as an A+ Certified Professional by CompTIA (COMP106618402) to maintain, operate and repair personal computers running the Microsoft Operating System. He received his BA from Princeton University in psychology and has taken courses in learning, education, and teaching technology from both Princeton and the University of Phoenix.

The going rate for this service is usually $50 per hour.
The rate will vary depending on whether I am teaching something simple like MS Word or something complex like Cascading Style Sheets, whether I am teaching you for 2 hours or for 6 hours. I am flexible, however.
Two hour minimum. It's simple and it's affordable. In the end it's cheaper than buying the books, trying to teach yourself, procrastinating, and then never getting your project done anyway. So how much time, effort, and money have you really saved in the end by trying to do it yourself?
